How To Make Specialty Roll: Avocado Sesame Roll: Cooked Ingredients
The Ingredients
To make the avocado sesame roll you need sliced cucumber, avocado, and for the topping: sliced avocado, wafu sesame mayo, and furikake wakame flakes.
You need 2 avocados for this roll.
The wafu sesame mayo and the furikake wakame flakes can be bought at your local Asian market.
This roll is made with the rice on the outside - uramaki roll.
Adding the Rice
To make this roll add a half sheet of nora to your bamboo mat.
You have to measure out the amount of rice, About 3/4 cup is enough for a half sheet of nora.

Once you've added the rice, flip over the nora so the rice is facing the bamboo mat.

Add the cucumber and avocado.

Once the roll is cut, you must firm the roll, using the bamboo mat, and some saran wrap.
Put saran wrap over the roll.
Place the bamboo over the saran wrap and with your hands flatten it firmly to the roll.
Then remove the saran wrap slowly.
Adding the Avocado

Now you can add the
wrapped avocado to the the roll
Because we want the avocado slices to wrap around the roll, we need to cut the avocado slices taller. This is easy to do.

Use a ripen avocado, it will flatten better to the roll.
Use saran wrap to cover the sliced avocado on the roll
Use the bamboo mat to flatten the avocado to the roll.

Put the mat over the sushi roll and firm the avocado to the roll.

After flattening with the bamboo mat, remove the saran wrap slowly so the avocado stays in place.
Garnish The Roll

Once the avocado has been added to the roll, add some wafu sesame mayo to the roll, and sprinkle some furikake wakame flakes on the avocado.
Add some pickled ginger and wasabi to the serving dish.
